I still scrapbook

I'm still doing my scrappy thing, I've just moved things over to my scrapbooking blog, footnotes.   There's lots of stuff over there so check it out!

I've moved

...some of my blog around.  All of my scrapbooking galleries and info are found in my new blog, Scrap Happy.  The link is found on the lower left of this blog, right under my photo blog.

I was just cleaning house and thought this would be easier to keep track of .

Scrap Muse upload day!

I love the days when we  up load our layouts from the monthly kits from Scrap Muse.     August's kit was just awesome and I had so much fun using the 3 bugs in a rug papers.  So here's my stuff from August...

August first...wow

I am continually amazed at how fast the time goes.  Or am I just getting slower?

Some new things around here...the rain.  Actually, it's not new.  It's been raining so much here in the East Mountains.  Much more so than when we were in Albuquerque.  I think it's a really wet year, though.  It makes me mad that I didn't have time to get a garden in this year because it would have been rockin'.

I got a request for a layout from Simple Scrapbook magazine.  It was a layout I sent in ages ago, probably last summer.  I think it's going to be part of an article, though, because of the questions they wanted me to answer for it.  I'm happy, though...I love that magazine!

Creating Keepsakes has their September online edition up and my "out of eggs" layout is the first one on the page!  You can see it here.  The only thing I am worried about it that sometimes if you are on the online issue, you don't get put in the print issue.  I hope that's not the case!!  If anyone gets their hands on the paper magazine, check it out for me, please!  I subscribe, but stuff seems to take it's time getting to New Mexico.

My photo blog was horribly neglected last month.  I only posted four times---yikes!  I made a goal for myself to have a new photo every day in August...hmm...except when we are in Las Vegas.  Check it out anyway, it's on the sidebar on the left side.

Okay, Hannah and I are off to Target & Trader Joe's (and for a special treat if she's good---Sonic).  That girl just loves Sonic.  She doesn't especially love the food...she doesn't eat fast food as a rule, and kind of picks at it.  But she gets to sit in the front seat with Mommy while we eat, and she gets a toy, and she loves the lemonade.  Go figure, but the words "Sonic!  Sonic!  Sonic!" ring through our house regularly.

layout day

Today's the day for all of the July Scrapmuse layouts to be posted.  I loved this kit, so bright and summery.  So here's my stuff...

the Tao of Mom

Tao_of_mom_1

The pull out tag contains the journaling  "My mother is a wise woman. I just need to learn to shut up and listen to her."

I got the idea from the book The Tao of Mom, a cool little book with wise quotes from famous and not so famous mothers.

So here' s to listening to your Mom!

I had another of my layouts picked up by Creating Keepsakes Magazine.   It has 10 photos of Hannah on it!  It will be in the November issue.

Thelma

Thelma

I did this layout for my monthly assignment at Scrap Muse.   This is Dwayne's grandmother, Thelma.  We've got nurses all over this family on both sides.   I never had the pleasure of meeting her.

father's day

We are spending a lazy father's day at home.  Lounging around, reading the paper.  Dwayne just went to the garage to putter (one of his favorite things to do).  I'm sure he's contemplating what to do with the Lowe's gift certificate I got him.

Just a low-key family day.  I love it.

Here's the father's day card/mini album I gave him.  He loved it and got a little choked up. There's a mushy note on the inside, I think that's what did it...

why I chose you

Why_i_chose_you

A layout I did yesterday for Hannah's adoption book.

The reasons include...

Because I believe every child should have a loving home.

Because the love of family is meant to be shared.

Because I believe that my path always pointed toward you.

Because I wanted to be the one to encourage your interests and talents.

Because I wanted even more than what nature had in store for me.

To bring happiness to the empty places in my heart.

To add new joy to my life.

To help me not overlook the simple but meaningful things.

To explore the wonders of the world with me.

Because when I first touched you, I wanted to hold you forever.

Because I wanted to share with you the blessings that I have received.

To fill my house with laughter.

So I could shower you with affection.

Because I wanted to be the one to “kiss it and make it all better.”

To pass on to you what I have learned.

Because you touched my heart.

Scrap Happenings

I've had a few scrapbook related things going on this week.

Ck_hof_2 First of all, Creating Keepsakes Magazine announced the 2006 Hall of Fame winners in their July Issue.  I am there on page 125, where I won an Honorable Mention.  The big Hall of Fame issue isn't due out until October, but I have layouts in the August and September issues.

Memory Makers magazine contacted me yesterday about a layout they wanted for their Idea Gallery 7.  I have to complete the paperwork and send that one off today.

I have lots of projects planned for other things, perhaps I would like to add another design team.  But I'm feeling creative and energized lately, and can't wait to play with my paper on most days.

Scrap Muse

I don't know if I have mentioned what fun it is to design for Scrap Muse.  It is a monthly kit club and each month they send out a kit with papers, ribbons and embellishments to complete scrapbooking layouts to their subscribers (or you can buy month-to-month).  As a design team member, I get the kit in advance and design layouts and write an article for their newsletter.  It is such a fun site with great people on it!  And the design team I work with are a very talented bunch of ladies.

Here's some of my monthly Muse creations....
